41 districts and 7 divisions in Rajasthan

In the state cabinet meeting, 9 districts and 3 divisions have been abolished by redefining the newly formed districts and divisions by the previous government.

Now there will be a total of 41 districts and 7 divisions in Rajasthan.

Districts which are retained – Phalodi, Balotra, Kotputli-Baharod, Khairthal-Tijara, Beawar, Deeg, Didwana-Kuchaman and Salumber.

Abolished Districts – Dudu, Kekri, Shahpura, Neemkathana, Sanchore, Gangapur City, Anupgarh, Jaipur Rural and Jodhpur Rural districts. 

Abolished Divisions – Pali, Banswara and Sikar divisions.

To create administrative structure in the 8 new retained districts now Zila Parishads, Panchayat Samiti and Gram Panchayats will also be reorganized.

This decision has been taken on the recommendation of the Cabinet Sub Committee and the Committee headed by retired IAS Dr. Lalit K. Panwar.
