Varun Sagar
Varun Sagar (Foy Sagar) is a freshwater lake located in Ajmer.
This lake was constructed by an engineer named Foy during the British Raj between 1891 and 1892 AD.
Like Ana Sagar, Foy Sagar also receives water from the Bandi River.
It was constructed for water management during famine relief.
It is an artificial water body which offers a panoramic view of the Aravalli Mountains situated nearby.
Recently, the state government has changed the names of three places in Ajmer, which are symbols of slavery mentality, in which Foy Sagar Lake has been renamed as “Varun Sagar”, Hotel Khadim has been renamed as Hotel “Ajaymeru” and King Edward Memorial (Rest House) has been renamed as “Maharishi Dayanand Vishrantgrih”.
