Rajasthan Journalist Health Scheme

The notification of Rajasthan Journalist Health Scheme (RJHS) has been issued by the Department of Information and Public Relations for journalists.

The scheme was launched by Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma in the State Level Development and Good Governance Festival on March 28 in Bhilwara.

All journalists accredited by the state government will be eligible for RJHS.

After the notification of this scheme is issued, accredited journalists will be able to avail cashless medical facilities on the lines of RGHS.

According to the scheme, eligible journalists and their family members will get a medical expenditure (IPD) facility of Rs 10 lakh per year.

Also, OPD facility will be payable as per the medical diary.

ID cards will also be issued to accredited journalists for the facility available under the scheme.

Relevant medical expenses incurred during the period of three days before and fifteen days after hospitalization will be considered as part of the claim.

Giving relaxation in the age limit and experience of accreditation of freelance journalists, the minimum eligibility age was made 45 years and journalism experience 15 years.

Bishan Singh Shekhawat Journalism Award will be given to honour journalists for excellent journalism.

Financial assistance will be provided to accredited journalists and dependents from the Journalist and Literary Welfare Fund.
