Rajasthan Democracy Fighters Honor Bill-2024
The Rajasthan Democracy Fighters Honor Bill, 2024, has been passed by voice vote in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly.
The bill aims to honor the “democracy fighters” who fought for democracy during the Emergency.
The Bill recognises persons detained under “MISA” (Maintenance of Internal Security Act) or “DIR” (Defence of India Rules) as “Loktantra Senani” if they were detained during the period between 25 June 1975 and 21 March 1977.
The Bill provides for providing Samman Pension of Rs 20,000 per month and medical assistance of Rs 15,000 to Loktantra Senani. In addition, Loktantra Senani will also get free medical treatment in state government-run hospitals.
