Keoladeo National Park
It is situated in Bharatpur district.
It was declared as a national park in 1982.
Keoladeo National Park was declared a Ramsar site in 1981 and a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1985.
It is the only park in India which is completely surrounded by a 2 meter high boundary wall, due to which the possibility of any kind of encroachment and biological disturbance factors is reduced. But there is no possibility of having a buffer zone here.
Since the wetland areas of Keoladeo are not naturally formed, they depend on monsoon and water pumped from outside, which is traditionally being provided by the “Ajan Dam” reservoir.
